Internship
In order to fulfill my degree, I had to complete an internship. Below I will explain my role as a Translation Researcher for the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica from March 2023 to May 2023
I worked with Mildred, the teacher and my boss, and helped her look for websites, articles, and videos for her class to translate. I then would go over the translated texts with Mildred to help her with the grading process. I created a rubric and corrections sheet that I shared with the class on what Mildred and I expected with the translations and explained that mistakes would be highlighted with a symbol and an explanation on how to correct the mistake for the future.
While studying abroad in Costa Rica, I got the opportunity to take an internship at the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. I was excited because I was looking forward to improving my Spanish skills and getting experience in translation. On the other hand, I was nervous because I did not have a lot of experience in translation apart from whenever I translated what my mother was saying to my friends that were visiting.
